Pastor Julian Richards – The Sunday Hour

Julian and I met in the winter of 2016, after I had returned from The Philippines where I had been on a Missionary trip to help the Orphans, Children and Street Kids.

I was looking for an  Alpha Course  (please click this link, it could change your life) and after returning from visiting the Philippines and then contacting Alpha, these events put me on the path that I now travel. I have been with Pastor Julian and   The Seed   ever since.

Pastor Julian Richards

“I am a Jesus follower, a husband, a father and a grandfather.

I grew up with a habit of going to church, but like many of my generation, my Sundays did not match my behaviour the rest of the week. I made a decision that my faith in Christ would impact my whole life and not just my Sundays at a Billy Graham rally in Bristol in 1984.

I met Wendy my wife at the Nurture group which followed and we married in 1985.

Although I trained as a Chartered Surveyor and worked in the Estates Department of a local authority throughout the 1980s, I followed God’s call on my life and left that profession to train and become a minister of the Gospel in the early 1990s. I have followed my calling ever since then.

My current role is pastor of The Seed Christian Fellowship in Somerset UK, a small church with a big God, a big heart and a big vision!”

Pastor Julian has a role with Moorlands College, the Bible College, promoting their placement-based degree in Missional Leadership. Moorlands is the college where I studied, this degree course is excellent and gives a top-quality training and education, for those preparing for Christian Ministry.

Pastor Julian not only spends his time as our Pastor, but also supports his wife Wendy’s business, as well as mentoring and supporting The Seed family. On top of this Pastor Julian also helps the mission organisation Christ for India ( a Seminary, School, Children’s Home and Church Planting work based in Andhra Pradesh in the South of India)  as UK Development Director. His primary role there is to try to raise the profile of CFI in the UK, to visit churches and small groups and talk about the mission in India. Julian tries to travel there each year to encourage them and to minister there.

Pastor Julian can and does organise and lead small mission teams to India

If you would like to hear about the work, or indeed, to join a mission team, please contact him at: juliankgrichards@icloud.com

The Christ for India Website can be found here:  Christ for India

I had planned to accompany Julian to visit India this year,  but due to the current world health problems, that has been shelved for the time-being

Pastor Julian and I have become really close friends over the last four years and I have learned a lot from him, and my spiritual journey continues. The family at The Seed, made me very welcome and I am certainly part of them now. I think we are all growing and developing , and as the weeks and months pass by our faith will become very very important as inevitably we will all know someone who may succumb to this deadly virus.

Pastor Julian Richards is a valued member of The Sunday Hour Family, and his “Thought for the Day” is an integral part of The Sunday Hour radio programme

Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, let us reason together” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool”
