2 Days with Grandchildren…Day 1; Wednesday 13th April

Wednesday morning and all is well, I travelled over from Wells to Weston s Mare to have a day with my grandchildren Mason Mia and Logan. Mummy was working today as it is the second week of half term, and Daddy works because its a normal day!

Â

Â

Airhop @ Cribbs Causeway, Bristol was where they all wanted to go, so online we went and booked the tickets, 11am today and we were on our way….. A quick drive up the M5, 30 minutes and we had parked the car

Into Airhop we went, Mia had been the week before with her friends, it was the first time for Logan Mason and me. Of course I had to join in, we are only here once, and we are never too old to have fun :-) We were given our Airhop socks, and waited for the Safety Talk.

At 11am we were all allowed in to start an hour of fun, fun, fun!! Logan wanted the trampolines, Mia the Foam Pit and Mason the Dodge Arm. Grandad got involved and everyone had great fun. it was an hour booked for the session, and it soon went. The photos show just how big it is, but it is even bigger! The largest one in Europe!

Plenty of room upstairs for parents and friends to sit and snack, cold drinks, coffee…they have got it well worked out and the facilities are excellent

Recommended for family days and birthday parties

Next stop Cribbs Causeway The Mall I needed to get a watch battery fitted and the kids had decided that we would eat lunch at McDonalds @ Cribbs The Mall

Â

Â

After Lunch I went to Goldsmiths to ask about a battery fitting, think they thought Swatch was a little beneath them so I went to H Samuel, again it was Sorry no we don’t do watch batteries, which when you think about it is bizarre!! given what their business is? Earnest Jones too, but F Hinds came to the rescue and also gave me a lifetime supply and fitting for £12.95… which I thought was pretty good value. They will email me each anniversary and remind me to have a new battery fitted!

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts???…. everyone’s favourite, we planned to go there and get a box, but somehow forgot until we were back at the car.

I think we all got distracted when we came across the  Wallace & Gromit at The Mall an amazing shop with all things to Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. For anyone interested or loving there Aardman characters this shop is a must. There is also the on line shop Wallace & Gromit Charity Shop where you can buy everything. The Mall is a great shopping centre but always nice when its not so busy…

All in all it was a fabulous day, I thank God for the love that we have for our grandchildren, being a grandparent is the most special gift that we can receive. I cherish every minute of it, and I am lucky I see my family every week 2 even 3 times a week, and I get to spend time with the children doing all the fun things that they love to do.

My thought for the day comes from Pastor Rick Warren

“I said to myself, ‘Relax, because the Lord takes care of you’” (Psalm 116:7 NCV).

God has given you the gift of your body, and it comes with an owner’s manual — the Bible. In it are all the instructions you need to take care of yourself and live a long life.

You already know the basics: proper nutrition, exercise, and a good night’s rest. But there’s another health factor you may not have thought of for living long and well.

Trusting God is good for your health. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5 NIV).

Why is trusting in God good for your health? Because when you trust him, you don’t worry.

Psalm 116:7 says, “I said to myself, ‘Relax, because the Lord takes care of you’” (NCV). If you really trust in God, you’re going to be less stressed.

The Bible says in Proverbs 14:30, “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones” (NIV). It’s not just what you eat that matters. It’s what eats you! You can have all the right macrobiotics and organic food, but if your body is filled with resentment, worry, fear, lust, guilt, anger, bitterness, or any other emotional disease, it’s going to shorten your life.

You have a choice:

You can either worry or worship.
You can either pray or panic.
The more you pray, the less you’ll panic. Relax, because God will take care of you!
