Our Dreams are given to us…..

A slightly different blog, an interesting set of observations, feel free to comment on, if you want…………… Day Dream, Sleep Dream and De ja vu

“Dreams sometimes come true”……is a phrase that we hear often, but where do our dreams come from, why do some people dream and some don’t, are they random? Do dreams actually reflect our lives, do they enhance our lives.

“I am chasing my dream  I dream of becoming an Astronaut, I dream of winning the Lottery” is that really a dream or a wish?

We “daydream” is that also just a wish, something we want, something we need

Are dreams only a human phenomenon? We often look at a dog or a cat sleeping and say “Aaaah look he/she is dreaming”

So what makes us dream, is it the thoughts we have immediately before we sleep, or is it our subconscious that sometimes wakens?  A theory also is that our dreams only occur in the immediate period before we wake, and yet we have dreams that in our minds go on for hours. So can any of this be proved? I am sure the scientists will be very happy to try and prove the theories.

Is it also possible that our dreams are “given” to us, If you have faith and believe that there is one God, as I do then it must be wholly possible that our dreams are given to us. But for what reason?

“I think Day Dreaming is an excercise of your imagination. Whereas Sleep Dream is both something subconscious or signs/secrets yet to be revealed”…. This was donated to this blog, thank you

You know that feeling when you think you have been somewhere before, but know its impossible because you really haven’t been to that place before, so how is it that your mind convinces you that you have? Could it be that you actually have been to that place before but cant remember. It is sometimes called De ja vu, so are our minds or our memory playing games with us…. “De ja vu I find most fascinating because most of the time its something we dream of and it happens to us later in reality” ………Another donation to this blog…thank you

There is a theory that we get the feeling of De ja vu because there sometimes occurs a lag between what we see and the registration in our memory, that is, our eyes will see an image and that image will go into our memory before our brain registers the image. Therefore when our eyes register the image with our brain, our brain searches our memory for that image, which it finds,  and that causes us to think that we have been there/seen that image before at some time in our past. If you can understand that, it is an interesting theory, that actually makes sense.

Or, have we actually been to that place or seen that image before, and our memory has just forgotten? This has happened to me on occasions and I am convinced that I know exactly that I have been there, or seen the image before. Of course the other side to that is when someone can actually describe something without actually seeing it, and the description is wholly accurate. This is really fascinating because is it also theorizing that we subconsciously dream and then later, could be a day a week a month or even multiple years later it appears in reality……

God moves in mysterious ways and when there is ever anything that cannot be reconciled,  it moves me to believe that there may be a real spiritual explanation. There are  21 Dreams in the Bible  One of the greatest dreams was………………………….

Matthew 1:18-25 New International Version (NIV)

Joseph Accepts Jesus as His Son

18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[a]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[b] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[c] because he will save his people from their sins.”

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[d] (which means “God with us”).

24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

I am thankful for another contribution, another personal interpretation, and another reason of why I now believe that “Our Dreams are given to us ………”

“Hello, my wife passed a few months ago and I’ve had several dreams regarding her.. It wasn’t like she came to me in a dream.. More like God sent me these dreams to give me confirmation of her being ok now”

Day Dreams, Sleep Dreams and Da ja vu, thought provoking in many ways………………
