Good morning, 8th November, Remembrance Sunday

Blessings on this special Sunday, just 3 days before the 11th Day.

11th November 2026 – Remembrance Day
🌺 Lest We Forget.
Today, on Remembrance Sunday, 8th November, we pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country. At 11 o’clock, across our nation, a moment of silence will fall. Yet, within that silence are millions of stories of courage, bravery, heartbreak and sacrifice.
We remember the young men and women who left their homes, families and loved ones, often not knowing whether they would ever return. Many never did. We also remember those who came home carrying physical and emotional scars, and the families who waited, worried and sometimes received news that changed their lives forever.
For me, Remembrance Day is much more than remembering events from history. It is about recognising the precious value of freedom and peace, things we can sometimes take for granted in our everyday lives. Their sacrifices should never be forgotten, nor should we overlook the responsibility we have to future generations.
Perhaps today is also an opportunity to reflect on how we treat one another. If those who sacrificed so much could leave us with one lasting message, surely, it would be to cherish peace, show kindness and never take life for granted.
We remember them, we honour them, and we will never forget them.
🌺 Lest We Forget.

At the Eleventh Hour
The eleventh hour, the eleventh day,
We stop and bow our heads to pray.
A moment’s silence, still and deep,
For those whose memories we proudly keep.
They left their homes, their loved ones dear,
With hearts of courage, hope and fear.
Some came home, some gave their all,
Answering their country’s solemn call.
Across the fields where poppies grow,
Lie stories that we’ll never know.
Of youthful dreams and lives cut short,
Of sacrifice beyond our thought.
We remember those who fought for peace,
And those whose suffering did not cease.
The ones who waited, the tears they cried,
The empty chairs, the grief inside.
Today we stand with grateful hearts,
Remembering those who played their parts.
May freedom never be taken for granted,
May peace be cherished, hope be planted.
And as the years continue to unfold,
May their stories forever be told.
For those who gave their lives, we owe
A debt of thanks that time cannot outgrow.
At eleven, we pause, we pray,
And remember them, today and every day.
🌺 Lest We Forget.

A Prayer for Remembrance Sunday – 8th November
Heavenly Father,
Today we come before You with grateful hearts as we remember all those who gave their lives in the cause of freedom and peace. We thank You for their courage, their sacrifice and the love they showed for their fellow human beings.
We remember those who never returned home, those who carry the scars of conflict, and the families whose lives were changed forever.
Lord, help us never to take our freedom for granted. Teach us to value peace, show kindness to one another, and work towards a world where hatred is replaced by love and conflict by understanding.
May we honour the fallen not only with our silence, but through the way we live our lives.
Lord, let there be peace in our world, today and always.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen. 🌺
