Good morning one and all,
We are into the month of September and on Monday I will return to my work, driving the special needs children to school and back each day. It has been a lovely 7-week break, but now it’s time to return. 😊 🚍
We still have a few weeks of the warm weather we hope, and then the leaves and colours will start to change and Autumn will be with us.
The Colour Palette in Autumn is the most beautiful, and one that I am looking forward to, on my hikes in the coming months
As I sit here at 6am, eating my Muesli and Fruit I am reminded of the 9 Fruits
Galatians 5:22-23 in the NIV:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
The Apostle Paul writes this to the church in Galatia, who were struggling with internal conflict, legalism, and selfish behaviour. Right before this verse (in verses 16–21), he lists the “acts of the flesh”—destructive behaviours like hatred, jealousy, fits of rage, and selfish ambition. He then contrasts that dark list with this beautiful list of single fruit
This is not a checklist of things you must do to earn God’s favour.
Instead, it is the natural byproduct of a life surrendered to and walking with the Holy Spirit. Just as an apple tree naturally produces apples, a Christian connected to the Spirit naturally produces these qualities in their relationships and character.
I wonder what your thoughts are?
I think we must stop striving to manufacture these traits; they aren’t a checklist for approval. Focus more on abiding in Jesus than fixing yourself. When you fail, don’t spiral into guilt; simply turn back to the Spirit in quiet prayer. He produces the crop, not you. Growth is gradual, but the Gardener is infinitely kind. Rest daily in Him, and the harvest comes….. AMEN!
I want to extend best wishes and indeed birthday wishes to everyone at Living with Parkinson daily.
