The Sunday Hour is a different unique hour of words and music, with myself, Mike, Karen and Stephanie, and the finest Christian, Gospel, Reggae bands and individual artists
The Sunday Hour was borne out of an idea pitched to me by a friend in August 2019
The programme was first broadcast on SeaBird Radio on 8th September 2019 just 3 weeks after the idea. I guess I was a natural, as the station owner at the time listened to the initial programme that I recorded as a demo on the Thursday, and broadcast it on the Sunday
We have now completed 211 consecutive programme, and haven’t missed a single week, We also produce a special Easter Sunday Hour and a Christmas Day Hour each year
We have 3 resident’s on the programme, my friend and Pastor fromVirginia in The US, Mike Klumpp with his Sunday Hour Thoughts, Mike’s wife and my dear friend Karen Klumpp with her “Pondering on a Sunday” and Stephanie Beesley from Wales in the UK who sends us her favourite verses each week
Me? Yes you hear my voice a lot too
The music comes from bands and artists from around the world, and we have given unknown singers airtime to help with their musical career
The Sunday Hour is not broadcast by hundreds of stations, we like to make sure that it fits with our ideas and values, and in the last four years we have grown into a “Radio family” broadcasting from 12 stations in New Zealand, Scotland, USA, Philippines, England and Northern Ireland
We love to hear from listeners, and encourage listeners to send us their requests and dedications. We will play voice requests on air too.
